Disclosed are a food waste disposal device for a sink and a control method thereof. The food waste disposal device according to the present invention includes: a housing which has an inlet formed to be coupled to a drain trap of the sink and a discharge pipe and is formed to have the upper part wider than the lower part; a grinder which is arranged on the lower part of the housing to grind the food waste coming into the housing; and a motor which is connected to the grinder to drive the grinder.
