PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device that can surely prevent a mercury bridge.SOLUTION: An image projection device comprises: a high-pressure mercury lamp; a lamp control part that controls a light-on of the high-pressure mercury lamp; a temperature detection part that detects a temperature of the high-pressure mercury lamp; and a heating part that heats the high-pressure mercury lamp. When determining that the high-pressure mercury lamp is not lighted on after a process of lighting on the high-pressure mercury lamp is started, the power control part measures a temperature of the high-pressure mercury lamp, and when the temperature measured is less than a predetermined temperature, after the high-pressure mercury lamp is heated until the temperature thereof arrives at a predetermined temperature by the heating part, the lamp control part executes the process of lighting on the high-pressure mercury lamp once again. |
