PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twin screw extruder usable even in uses requiring large extrusion pressure by allowing pressure for extruding a material from a material discharging port to be increased.SOLUTION: Two screw shafts 2 on which tapered screw blades 21 are arranged are rotatably provided in a casing 1 which includes a tapered cylinder-shaped hopper part 11 forming a material charging port 11a, and a tapered cylinder-shaped compression part 12 forming a material discharging port 12a on the tip following the hopper part 11. The size of a clearance D2 between an internal surface 12b of the casing of the compression part 12 and the outer edge of the screw blade 21 is set to be smaller than the size of a clearance D1 between an internal surface 11b of the casing of the hopper part 11 and the outer edge of the screw blade 21.
