PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which needs a short warm-up period, has a high energy-saving capability, is capable of shortening the first print time from a heating standby state, and can be stably used until a target life time without the occurrence of melting of parts by heat.SOLUTION: A fixing device 200 comprises: a rotatable fixing member 201; a heat source 202 for heating the fixing member from inside; a pressure member 203 which forms a nip part together with the fixing member; a nip forming member 206 which is disposed in the fixing member and forms the nip part by facing the pressure member; a pair of holding members 208 which hold both end parts of the fixing member in its axis direction; and a pair of side plates 212 to which the holding members are attached. It conveys a recording medium carrying an unfixed image to the nip part and fixes the unfixed image on to the recording medium. Metal cylinder members 214 which receive light from the heat source are provided to the inner sides of the holding member, and the metal cylinder members are connected with the side plates. |
