PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery capable of preventing a gas diffusion layer from peeling off from a catalyst layer resulting in a deformation due to water held adjacent to the boundary between the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer even when the fuel battery starts power generation from a low temperature state.SOLUTION: A gas diffusion layer has a first face formed with a gas flow path and a second face; and plural through holes which penetrate from a catalyst layer side face of the gas flow path to the second face in a thickness direction thereof. The gas flow path includes plural first parts and second parts which are formed alternately along a gas flow direction. The cross section of the flow path of the first part in a gas flow direction is arranged to be smaller than the cross section of the flow path of the second part in the gas flow direction. The through holes are formed adjacent to the first part so that at the first part, the gas flow is narrowed to thereby increase the speed of the gas flow in the first part. |
