PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device whose screen is easy to view even in water.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device 100 comprises: a control section 210 which controls an operation thereof; a display section 220 which displays an image; a storage section 230 which stores instructions and data; a water detection section 240 which detects the portable terminal device 100 being in water; an illuminance detection section 250 which detects ambient illuminance of the portable terminal device 100; and a water pressure detection section 260 which detects water pressure applied to the portable terminal device 100. The control section 210 includes: a cycles change section 211 which sets cycles in which the ambient illuminance of the portable terminal device 100 is detected using an output from the water detection section 240, an output from the water pressure detection section 260, and the data held in the storage section 230; and a luminance control section 212 which adjusts the luminance of the display section 220 on the basis of an output from the cycle change section 211 and an output from the illuminance detection section 250. |
