<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel image generating device capable of maximizing energy saving effect while preferably preventing deformation of a belt.SOLUTION: According to the invention, there is provided an image generating device comprising power consumption controlling means shifting the device into a power saving mode as a response that a standby mode is continued for a given time period, belt deformation removing operation executing means periodically executing a deformation removing operation of a transportation belt when the device is in a standby state, and power saving period counting means counting a power saving period defined as an elapsed time starting from shifting from the standby mode into the power saving mode to cancelling the standby mode. As a response to that the power saving period reaches a predetermined time period, transportation belt tension controlling means controls the tension on the transportation belt to be reduced. While the tension on the transportation belt is reduced, the belt deformation removing operation executing means does not execute the deformation removing operation.</p> |
