Provided is a current-source power conversion apparatus wherein resonance phenomena do not occur even when floating inductance occurs in a commutation auxiliary circuit. The apparatus comprises a plurality of switching legs (3, 4, 5). The following elements are serially connected in each of the switching legs in order from the direct-current voltage positive side: a first thyristor (31, 41, 51), a first diode (32, 42, 52), a second diode (33, 43, 53), and a second thyristor (34, 44, 54), respectively. First reverse-blocking self-arc-extinguishing elements (35, 45, 55) are connected between an alternating-current terminal and the point of connection between the first thyristor and the first diode, respectively, so that the direction of the alternating-current terminal is the forward direction; capacitors (36, 46, 56) are connected between the alternating-current terminal and the point of connection between the first diode and the second diode, respectively; and second reverse-blocking self-arc-extinguishing elements (37, 47, 57) are connected between the alternating-current terminal and the point of connection between the second diode and the second thyristor, respectively, so that the direction of the alternating-current terminal is the backward direction. |
