A method and system for determining dispersion of gases from emission sources comprises receiving an entry for a olfactory observation of air, determining at least one meteorological condition present at the time of the olfactory observation, determining a location of the olfactory observation, and storing the entry for the olfactory observation, the determined location and the determined meteorological condition, the stored location and the stored meteorological condition being associated with the stored entry. The method and systems further comprises receiving an output of a sensing of air, determining at least one meteorological condition present at the time of the sensing; determining an initial dispersion response of gas dispersion from the emission source, retrieving at least one entry for an olfactory observation of the air, and comparing, corroborating or adjusting the initial dispersion response based on the at least one retrieved olfactory observation. |
