The valve has housing (1) that comprises a flap (4) pivotally mounted about a pivot axis (3) of a housing wall (2). A stopper (6) is provided in a closed position in the housing wall. A recess (9) is formed extending over an entire length of the stopper. The recess is filled completely with an intumescent material (11) and a non-combustible fiber-containing material. The regions of the intumescent and fiber-containing materials facing the closed position of the flap are covered by a non-combustible layer (12) and a glass coated fabric layer, respectively.
