The finishing device has a pressing device (24) with a curved pressing surface (42) along which a finishing belt that is provided between a finish belt insertion end (44) and a finishing belt operating portion (46) is pressed against a to-be-machined finish starting workpiece. The pressing device has pressing elements (34,36) that are provided with face portions (38,40). An adjusting device adjusts the distance between the pressing elements in the width direction (72) of finishing belt.
