A ratchet wheel (60, 130) is provided for a fishing reel (e.g., a spinning reel or a dual-bearing reel). The ratchet wheel (60, 130) is mounted onto a first component (8, 142) of the fishing reel. The ratchet wheel (60, 130) being engagable with a claw member (62, 131) pivotally mounted to a second component (4, 101) of the fishing reel. The second component (4, 101) is configured to be rotatable relatively to the first component (8, 142). The ratchet wheel (60, 130) has a mounting part (60a, 130a) and a plurality of teeth (60b, 130b). The mounting part (60a, 130a) is configured to be mounted onto the first component (8, 142). The teeth (60b, 130b) are radially disposed on one of an outer peripheral portion (60d, 130d) of the mounting part (60a, 130a) and an inner peripheral portion of the mounting part (60a, 130a). The teeth (60b, 130b) extend from the one of the outer (60d, 130d) and inner peripheral portions. The teeth (60b, 130b) are configured such that two adjacent ones of the teeth selectively engage the claw member (62, 131). |
