A central controlling section judges suitability in 3D display of content based on the contents of the content before displaying the content in the display section, and displays the content in 3D when the content is judged to be suitable for 3D display.

1. A terminal device including a display section capable of performing three-dimensional display, comprising:
an acquisition means for acquiring content to be displayed; storage configured to store first criteria for judging suitability for three-dimensional display of acquired content based on a program genre associated with the acquired content and second criteria for determining depth of three-dimensional display based on the program genre associated with the acquired content; a judgment means for judging suitability for three-dimensional display of the acquired content based on the program genre associated with the acquired content and the first criteria stored in the storage; a determination means for determining a depth of three-dimensional display in accordance with the judged suitability for three-dimensional display and the second criteria stored in the storage; and a display control means for three-dimensionally displaying the acquired content in a display section in accordance with the determined depth of three-dimensional display.
