A linker for nucleic acid solid phase synthesis, comprising a compound represented by the following formulawherein X1 and X2 are each independently a hydroxy-protecting group that is dissociated by acid, L1 and L2 are each independently a linkage moiety that is cleaved by alkali, R1-R6 are each independently a hydrogen atom; a C1-6 alkyl group optionally substituted by a C1-6 alkoxy group; a C1-6 alkoxy group; a C1-7 acyl group; a mono or di-C1-6 alkylamino group; or a halogen atom, or R2 and R5 are joined to form, together with the carbon atom bonded thereto, a 3- to 8-membered carbocycle or heterocycle each optionally substituted by a substituent selected from (1) an oxo group, (2) a C1-6 alkyl group optionally substituted by a C1-6 alkoxy group, and (3) a phenyl group optionally substituted by a C1-6 alkoxy-carbonyl group.
