<p>623,739. Erection jigs; scaffolding clamps. WATES, Ltd., and MITCHELL, C. D. May 7, 1946, No. 13810. [Class 20(ii)] An erection jig comprises a number of prefabricated towers 20, 27 and tie members 32, 34 interconnecting them to form a framework rectangular both in elevation and plan, the framework providing support for panels &c. during building and also support for scaffolding boards &c. Panels &c. may bear against the members 32 during erection and be thus held in a vertical position. The main towers 20 comprise three vertical tubes 21, 22, 23 welded to transverse connecting members (not shown) which are spaced so as to constitute ladder rungs. The intermediate towers 27 of similar construction have only two vertical tubes. The bracing members 32 are connected to the uprights of the towers by means of clamps (Fig. 16) comprising two channel shaped members 39, 42 one of which is welded to the tube 32 and which are adapted to be clamped about the tower tube 20 by bolts 40. Two sets of diagonal bracing members 34 are connected at their ends to pairs of brackets 35 (Fig. 13) welded near the top and bottom of the tower tubes. The ends of scaffold boards are supported in angle members welded to the towers.</p> |
