The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising Lonicera coerulea var. edulis fruit extracts as active ingredients for preventing or treating ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. The Lonicera coerulea var. edulis fruit extracts according to the present invention have the effects of protecting nerve cells and thus dramatically reduce neurobehavioral defects and infarct volume caused by ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. Therefore, the Lonicera coerulea var. edulis fruit extracts according to the present invention can be provided as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating ischemic cerebrovascular diseases, and can be provided as a health food for preventing or treating ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. |
