PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water surface-floating solid agrochemical agent exhibiting excellent spreadability on water surface even in the case of fertilization on a paddy field having obstacles on water surface or having rice plants grown tall. SOLUTION: The water surface-floating solid agrochemical agent excellent in spreadability on water surface contains a compound expressed by the general formula (I) (wherein, X is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or ammonium; A and B are each a 2-4C alkylene; (m) and (n) are each an integer of 0-20; (m) and (n) can not be zero at the same time, the sum of (m) and (n) is <=20, and when (m) or (n) is >=2, plural groups of A or B take independently arbitrary groups; R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-18C alkyl, but they can not be H at the same time, and R3 is H or a 1-4C alkyl), as a water surface-spreading agent.
