PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormalities such as breaking of individual optical fibers by measuring an amount of light of an output luminous flux obtained by gathering radiation light from the entire optical fiber rather than from the individual optical fibers.SOLUTION: A light source device gathers radiation light of respective optical fibers of element light sources each including a light-emitting element, a drive circuit of the light-emitting element, and an optical fiber guiding light emitted from the light-emitting element and emitting the light from an emission end, and outputs the gathered light as one output luminous flux. The light source device further includes an optical sensor, and can obtain amount of light measurement data correlated with the amount of light of the output luminous flux. A control circuit selects one element light source, and performs control so that a state where the drive circuit belonging to the selected element light source supplies specified current to the light-emitting element is different from a state where all other drive circuits than the drive circuit do not supply current to the light-emitting element. A sequence is executed for performing acquisition of the amount of light measurement data at that time by sequentially selecting all the element light sources, and abnormalities are detected based on measurement data set including the acquired amount of light measurement data. |
