PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for paging in an HSDPA connected mode CELL_PCH or URA-PCH state.SOLUTION: A WTRU is configured: to select various PICH information that is broadcast by a base station by compiling a list of candidate PICHs, and selecting PICH information on the basis of the U-RNTI of the WTRU; and to receive paging messages on the basis of the selected PICH information. In one embodiment, a WTRU receives paging messages on the basis of a PICH, an HS-SCCH, and an HS-PDSCH. In another embodiment, a WTRU receives paging messages on the basis of a PICH and an HS-PDSCH. In both embodiments, a time delay parameter is used so that the WTRU may listen for either the HS-SCCH or HS-PDSCH for a period of time and return to a sleep mode if no paging message is received. |
