PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for head protection that can prevent an occupant from moving to outside of a vehicle to appropriately constrain the occupant inside the vehicle when the vehicle is rolling over, without moving the lower edge thereof to below a belt line at the time when inflation is completed.SOLUTION: An air bag 19 comprises: an inflation shielding portion 20 that is arranged to cover a vehicle indoor side of window glass W1 and W2 on completion of inflation; and an overlapping inflation portion 25 that is arranged at the indoor side of the inflation shielding portion 20 on completion of the inflation of the air bag 19 to overlap inflated sites, inflated by filling in gas for inflation, of the inflation shielding portion 20. The overlapping inflation portion 25 is configured to complete inflation after completion of inflation of the inflation shielding portion 20, has an external shape formed like a rod, and is arranged in a middle position in a vertical direction of the inflation shielding portion 20 to approximately follow in a longitudinal direction and arranged to overlap with pillar portions CP and RP arranged adjacently to the window glass W2 when viewed from the vehicle indoor side. |
