PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of suppressing power consumption during a power saving mode without compromising reliability of electronic components which operate during the power saving mode.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: a light emitting diode D11 (first light emitting diode) which indicates information about a state of the image forming apparatus to a user; and a photosensor P1 (access sensor) which detects an access of a user to the image forming apparatus. The photosensor includes a light emitting diode D2 (second light emitting diode) as a light emitting element and a photo transistor T1 as a light receiving element. The light emitting diode D11 and the photosensor P1 receive supply of power even during a power saving mode. When an access of a user is detected by the photosensor P1 during the power saving mode, the image forming apparatus returns to a normal operation mode. The light emitting diode D11 is connected with the light emitting diode D2 in series. |
