A cradle for attachment to the handle 200 of a supermarket trolley has a recess 32 for receiving a smart phone or the like (100, figure 9) and a sliding element 36 for adjusting the size of the recess to fit the phone and clamp the phone in the recess. The cradle may comprise two parts (12, 14, figure 5) which are hinged together and define a central aperture (18) for receiving the handle of the shopping trolley. Inserts and anti-slip sheaths (20) may be provided in the central aperture to provide for differing size handles. The plane of the recess may be inclined such that in use, when the trolley rests on a substantially horizontal surface, the rear wall of the recess is oriented at an angle of approximately 45° to the vertical. A second recess (40, figure 3) for receiving a phone or the like to be viewed by a child sitting in a child seat of the trolley may also be provided. The cradle may also comprise a cup holder (300, figure 11). The cradle can be fitted during the manufacture of trolleys or retro-fitted to existing trolleys. |
