PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well control a primary structure of polythiophenes without needing high-degree refinement of a solvent and the like nor thorough dehydration.SOLUTION: The process for producing polythiophenes represented by formula (P) includes a step A of reacting a thiophene monomer represented by formula (M1) and dilithium tetra(tert-butyl)zincate in the presence of a solvent containing at least one etheric solvent, and a step B of adding a polymerization catalyst to the reaction product of the step A and solution polymerization-reacting the mixture in the presence of the solvent. In the formulae, R is a ≥4C alkyl group, and X and Y are each independently one halogen element out of Cl, Br and I. |
