The housing (10) of the connector is molded together as two shells (10a, 10b) of substantially rigid material where each shell is integrally connected to the other along a common straight portion of edge (12). This provides the housing with a clam-shell form. The housing is also provided with a socket (11) for receiving a plug (2) of a fetal electrode.
