a main body, a supporting surface for supporting a bank note to be inserted flat in a direction of insertion, at least one lateral positioning flank for laterally positioning and/or for precisely connecting the device to the bill acceptor so that it fits precisely, and an adapter element for variably setting a position of the positioning flank, the adapter element having a lamellar design and being adjustably mounted on a wedge surface shaped mounting surface of the main body, wherein the adapter element is adjustable by being shifted on the mounting surface transversely to the direction of insertion.
