PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous membrane for secondary battery which can enhance the high temperature short circuit prevention performance sufficiently, and can enhance the cycle characteristics of a secondary battery configured by using the porous membrane for secondary battery by suppressing the dusting of the porous membrane for secondary battery furthermore.SOLUTION: A porous membrane for secondary battery contains non-conductive particles, i.e., resin particles, obtained via a step for making seed particles absorb a polymerizable monomer, by adding the seed particles to an emulsion containing the polymerizable monomer and an aqueous medium, a step for adding a water-soluble polymer having a thiol group at the end to the emulsion, and a step for polymerizing the polymerizable monomer thus absorbed, and a binder for porous membrane. |
