PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a fluctuation in digital values output from an A/D conversion circuit provided in each row, even in cases where an A/D conversion circuit is incorporated for each row.SOLUTION: A pixel 2 is arranged in matrix form, each outputting a pixel signal corresponding to a detected physical quantity. A/D conversion circuits 411-420 are arranged for each of one or more rows of the pixel 2. Each of the A/D conversion circuits 411-420 is connected each other in series, and has a plurality of delay circuits having a potential corresponding to a pixel signal applied to one of power supply terminals each and propagating a pulse signal with an amount of delay corresponding to the potential, a time conversion circuit for calculating counts corresponding to the number of the plurality of delay circuits through which the pulse signal has passed in a prescribed time, and an output circuit for outputting a digital signal corresponding to the calculated counts. The A/D conversion circuits 411-420 perform the A/D conversion of pixel signals output by the pixels 2 in all rows in the order in which A/D conversion is not performed simultaneously with the A/D conversion circuits 411-420 adjacent to each other. |
