<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently suppress power consumption by switching between full-seg broadcast reception and one-seg broadcast reception on the basis of a program genre.SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver comprises: program genre information analysis means for acquiring an event information table (EIT) included in a stream and analyzing program genre information; means for storing a by-program-genre operation table in which kinds of one-seg/full-seg reception are set for each program genre; and reception operation determination means for acquiring, from the by-program-genre operation table, a kind of one-seg/full-seg reception corresponding to the program genre information analyzed by the program genre information analysis means and determining whether the acquired kind matches the current reception mode of a tuner, and then switching the reception mode of the tuner if the two do not match.</p> |
