PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control, with good reproducibility, a bonded rate of a protective layer and a lubrication layer over a relatively wide range in a method and device for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium.SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic recording layer, a protective layer, and a lubrication layer are formed in this order on a lamination base body. The lubrication layer is formed with a vapor-phase lubrication deposition method without exposing to the atmosphere, the lamination base body on which the protective layer has been formed. Nitrogen atoms or oxygen atoms are injected on the surface of the protective layer which has been already formed and on which the lubrication layer is not yet formed. |
