PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for allowing an issuer or other entities to secure security and transit PANs.SOLUTION: A primary PAN has a first end portion, a second end portion having a checksum, and a middle portion between the first end portion and the second end portion. A secondary PAN has a first end portion, a second end portion having a checksum, and a middle portion between the first end portion and the second end portion. At least one of the end portions of the primary PAN is the same as that of the secondary PAN. The primary PAN checksum and the secondary PAN checksum are the same.The secondary PAN middle portion is different from the primary PAN middle portion. The secondary PAN middle portion is configured such that the secondary PAN matches the checksum calculation of the primary PAN. |
