One of the purposes of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal composition which has a positive &Dgr;&egr; value, also has a liquid crystal phase over a broad temperature range, good solubility at lower temperatures, excellent ODF process compatibility, high specific resistance and a high voltage holding ratio, and is stable to heat and light.
