PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic lithium and lithium amide agent having no obvious loss of reactivity, easy to handle, store and use, and available in a dry form.SOLUTION: The invention relates to lithium metal/porous metal oxide compositions. These lithium metal compositions are manufactured by mixing a liquid lithium metal and porous metal oxide in an inert atmosphere under heat generating condition enough to absorb the liquid lithium metal by porous metal oxide pores, and there is provided a method of manufacturing the lithium metal/porous metal oxide compositions including a step of reacting the resulting lithium metal/porous metal oxide composition with a compound RX at a temperature of about -80°C to 0°C. The lithium metal/porous metal oxide compositions preferably carry a lithium metal and about 20 wt.% to 40 wt.% carrying is preferable.
