A method for producing a polycarbonate resin, comprising a step of performing polycondensation through a transesterification reaction in the presence of a transesterification catalyst by using a dihydroxy compound as a raw material compound and a carbonic acid diester, wherein the dihydroxy compound comprises at least an aliphatic dihydroxy compound having an etheric oxygen atom on at least one ²-position or ³-position of a hydroxy group, the raw material compound comprises a nitrogen-containing compound in an amount of 0.3 ppm to less than 10 ppm in terms of weight concentration of nitrogen atom based on the aliphatic dihydroxy compound, and the production method of a polycarbonate resin comprises a step of previously heating the aliphatic dihydroxy compound at 50°C or more, holding the compound in the melted state for 0.5 to 200 hours, and then mixing the melt with a carbonic acid diester. |
