Disclosed is an article, hardfaced wearpart (10), a method and an assembly. The present hardfaced part (10) is suitable for use in abrasive environments and is formed using infiltration brazing. The article (10) comprises a substrate (12) having a surface, a sheet metal shell (14) and a composite material (24). The sheet metal shell (14) is connected to the substrate (12) to define a cavity (50) between the surface of the substrate (12) and the shell (14). The composite material (24) fills the cavity (50) and forms a coating on at least a portion of the surface of the substrate (12). The composite material (24) comprises a hard particulate material infiltrated with a metallic brazing material. |
