Biomass indenter (1) comprises: a base body in form of a straight hollow cylinder having two quarter lateral faces (2) in the form of circular sectors and a lateral surface (3) with two shell outer edges (4) which extend along the two outer jacket lines; a shaft (9) driven along the cylinder axis; and at least one rectangular push-flap hinged on the driven shaft, which is movable around the cylinder axis inside the cylinder chamber and which is dimensioned such that the length of the push-flap is less than the length of the base body. Biomass indenter (1) comprises: a base body in form of a straight hollow cylinder having two quarter lateral faces (2) in the form of circular sectors and a lateral surface (3) with two shell outer edges (4) which extend along the two outer jacket lines; a shaft (9) driven along the cylinder axis; and at least one rectangular push-flap hinged on the driven shaft, which is movable around the cylinder axis inside the cylinder chamber and which is dimensioned such that the length of the push-flap is less than the length of the base body and the width of the push-flap is less than the length of the radius of the quarter-cylinder. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a fermenter comprising the biomass indenter; and (2) pressing biomass comprising using a fermenter, operating the driven shaft to the open position in an angle of 150-180[deg] , and filling the fermenter with biomass through the opening, where the protective cover is lowered to the opening of the biomass indenter.
