<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reducing the amount of garbage including left foods, raw garbage, scraps of wood, paper, plastics and the like where nasty smell and bad smell are suppressed and energy usage for operation is small and to provide an operation method of the device.SOLUTION: Garbage is treated by hydrolyzing thermal decomposition at a lower part in a carbonization vessel. Low temperature garbage not treated by the hydrolyzing thermal decomposition exists on treated garbage. A gas generated from the garbage during the hydrolyzing thermal decomposition is heat-exchanged with the low temperature garbage not treated by the hydrolyzing thermal decomposition. A nasty smell component and a bad smell component in the gas are condensed or solidified. The holding heat of the gas is recovered by using for preheating the garbage not treated by the hydrolyzing thermal decomposition. Nasty smell and bad smell can be sealed in the carbonization vessel since the condensed or solidified nasty smell component and bad smell component are adhered to the garbage not treated by the hydrolyzing thermal decomposition. Moreover, Steam is recovered from the gas exhausted from the carbonization vessel and recovered steam is returned into the carbonization vessel and used for the hydrolyzing thermal decomposition.</p> |
