PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery which makes possible to impart an irreversible capacity to a negative electrode active material with a low charging potential.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode active material includes first and second positive electrode active materials. The first positive electrode active material is arranged to have an initial charge capacity of 180 mAh/g or smaller, and an initial charge and discharge efficiencies of 70% or larger when having been charged from 3.0 to 4.3 V(vs.Li/Li) in positive electrode potential with lithium metal used as the negative electrode. The second positive electrode active material is arranged to have an initial charge capacity over 180 mAh/g, and an initial charge and discharge efficiencies under 70% when having been charged from 3.0 to 4.3 V(vs.Li/Li) in positive electrode potential with lithium metal used as the negative electrode.
