An optical system comprises: a first optical member having a concave surface which reflects light having a first circular polarization component and through which light having a second circular polarization component in a rotation direction opposite to that of the first circular polarization component is transmitted; and a second optical member which converts the light having the first circular polarization component and reflected by the first optical member into the light having the second circular polarization component, reflects the light having the second circular polarization component, and causes the light having the second circular polarization component to be incident on the first optical member.
