PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire information to be used for diagnosis, with ease and without excess and deficiency.SOLUTION: The ophthalmic observation device includes: an optical system for OCT and image forming means; storage means that previously stores operation mode information in which a scanning pattern of an irradiation position of signal light by scanning means of the optical system is associated to an operation mode; and control means that specifies the scanning pattern associated to the operation mode by referring to the operation mode information, and controls the scanning means such that the irradiation position of the signal light is scanned by the specified scanning pattern.
