[Classes 44 and 65 (ii) [Also in Group XI] A hinge between a cover 2 and a casing 1 comprises a lever 4 pivoted at 3 to the cover and at 5, in a restricted manner, to the casing, and means for adjusting this lever about the pivot 5 so that the pivot 3 is in a predetermined fixed relationship with the casing when the cover is closed. The adjusting means consists of a thumb screw 7 which is threaded through one of the arms of the L-shaped lever and bears against the casing. In a modification the lever is: flat and is pivoted to the casing intermediate its ends. The cover is held in the closed position by a releasable fastening which comprises a U-shaped strip 13 pivoted at 14 to the casing, and a cam 11 pivoted at 12 within the U and adapted to press against an extension 17 of the cover projecting through the U. A leaf spring 16 is interposed between the cam and the extension. |
