An electrostatic latent image developing toner containing a plurality of toner particles, each including a binder resin and a release agent, is provided. The surface hardness of the toner particle, measured by a nanoindentation method, satisfies the following conditions (1) and (2): (1) The surface hardness of the toner particle attained with a displacement of 10 nm is 1 GPa or more and 3 GPa or less; and (2) the surface hardness of the toner particle attained with a displacement of 100 nm is 1 GPa or less.

1. An electrostatic latent image developing toner comprising a plurality of toner particles, each of the plurality of toner particles containing a binder resin and a release agent, and having surface hardness, measured by a nanoindentation method, satisfying the following conditions (1) and (2):
(1) the surface hardness of the toner particle attained with a displacement of 10 nm is 1 GPa or more and 3 GPa or less; and (2) the surface hardness of the toner particle attained with a displacement of 100 nm is 1 GPa or less.
