PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed print sheets from a sheet-feeding tray to a handling roller at a stable sheet-feeding position, even when the residual quantity of the print sheets changes.SOLUTION: The upper limit position of the top face of a print sheet 10 is detected by using a contact element 183 in contact with the top face of the print sheet 10 in a sheet-feeding tray 130 from the normal direction thereof regardless of the oscillation angle (inclination) of a bottom plate 134 in the sheet-feeding tray 130, that is, the inclination angle of the top face of the print sheet 10. Thereby, the upper limit position of the print sheet 10 is decided on the basis of the slide position of the contact element 183 in contact with the top face of the print sheet 10 in the sheet-feeding tray 130 from the normal direction thereof. As a result, the upper limit position of the print sheet 10 is determined individually depending on the inclination angle of the print sheet 10, that is, the oscillation angle of the bottom plate 134 in the sheet-feeding tray 130 with respect to the horizontal direction. In other words, the upper limit position of the print sheet 10 is determined individually depending on the residual quantity of the print sheet in the tray 130. |
