The path- and position measuring device (4) has a magnet and a sensor which detects a magnetic field strength, where the magnet or the sensor interacts with a movable element (3). The magnet or the sensor stands in connection with an end of a spring arrangement (7). Another end of the spring arrangement is hinged to the movable element. The spring arrangement has two springs arranged in series. The sensor is arranged on a holder (8) which is formed in a cylindrical shape. The holder is made from plastic. An independent claim is included for a household appliance with a housing.
