<p>The present application especially provides a method and an apparatus for protecting an integrated circuit. According to one embodiment, an apparatus of protecting a circuit from an electric transient event includes a protection transistor which connects the terminal of the circuit to a reference potential during the transient event, and at least one diode which is connected in series between the control node of the protection transistor and the terminal to trigger the protection transistor from the preset voltage of the terminal. According to one embodiment, the apparatus does not include a clamp diode which is connected between the control node of the protection transistor and the reference potential.</p> |
