Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for controlling lubrication of a rolling mill which can secure a targeted forward rate and prevent the occurrence of slips by variably controlling conditions for lubricating a rolling mill which uses a small-diameter roll. The method for controlling lubrication of the rolling mill according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of measuring a steel plate speed (Vo) at an outgoing side of the rolling mill; calculating a forward rate difference (Δf) between a target forward rate (f) and an actual forward rate (f′) obtained from the steel plate speed (Vo) and a preset roll speed (VR); and calculating the degree of valve opening (G) for adjusting a flow rate of water mixed with main rolling oil using the forward rate difference (Δf); and controlling concentration of rolling oil at low in the front end pass by mixing the amount of water determined by the degree of valve opening (G) with the main rolling oil of which concentration is set on the basis of the rear end pass. |
