<p>A stove box (1, fig 1) comprises a metal box having an open front face (2), a rear face 3, a top face 4 and two side faces (5, 6), and an aperture 7 in the top face for receiving a stove flue Y. An annular collar 8 provided under the top face aperture seals the flue with the top face. The top face aperture and collar are mounted in a plate 4A forming a first part of the top face which is movable and covers a larger hole 12 in a second part 4B of the top face. The top and side faces may have a perpendicular flange 4A, 5A, 6A adjacent a perimeter of the open face to secure the box to a fire surround (A). The box may have a bottom face. The collar may be welded to the top face and have an internal diameter greater than the aperture so when the flue is inserted through the aperture an annular cavity 9 is created between the collar and the flue. One or more removable bolts 11 may be screwed through a threaded aperture in the collar to secure a sealing material 10 (rope) in the cavity.</p> |
