There is provided a wheel motor device (500L,500R) comprising a hydraulic motor main body (120), a speed reduction gear mechanism (210) for reducing a speed of a rotational output of the hydraulic motor main body (120), an output member (290) for outputting the rotational output whose speed has been reduced by the speed reduction gear mechanism (210) to a driving wheel (21) and a casing (300) for accommodating the hydraulic motor main body (120) and the speed reduction gear mechanism (210). The casing (300) has a motor space (300M) and a gear space (300G) for respectively accommodating the hydraulic motor main body (120) and the speed reduction gear mechanism (210), the motor space (300M) being capable of storing fluid in a state of being liquid-tightly separate from the gear space (300G). The casing is provided with a flow-in port (300M(in)) for introducing fluid into the motor space (300M) and a flow-out port (300M(out)) for discharging fluid outward from the motor space (300M).
