Disclosed is an apparatus and method for automatic handover of a terminal receiving a broadcasting signal. After the current location information of the terminal receiving the broadcasting signal, a distance between the terminal and a plurality of broadcasting base stations is calculated by referring to a storage unit which stores the location information of the broadcasting base stations and the frequency channel information of the broadcasting base stations including a broadcasting base station to transmit the broadcasting signal. If the distances between the terminal and at least two broadcasting base stations among the broadcasting base stations are equal, handover is performed to receive the broadcasting signal from an adjacent broadcasting base station to transmit the same broadcasting signal as the received broadcasting signal. |
