A method for determining tendency of welding materials to hydrogen porosity consists in that in plates longitudinal slots are made, that are divided into a number of equal portions and provide for different amount of pore forming filler on the portions, and the portions are surfaced with welding material. As a pore forming filler distilled water in sealed sections of a polyolefin shrink tube is used.
