PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection accuracy of a user operation to a projection device.SOLUTION: A projection part projects a projection image onto a projection surface. An imaging part images an imaging area indicating an imageable area, to generate a captured image. An operation detection part detects the user operation to an operation target image indicating an image being the target of the user operation by using the captured image. When the user operation to the operation target image is detected, an imaging area coordinate calculation part calculates an imaging area coordinate for specifying the position of the imaging area with respect to the projection image from the captured image and the projection image. A position determination part determines a position where the operation target image is arranged in the projection image, based on the imaging area coordinate. An image generation part generates the projection image in which the operation target image is arranged in the determined position. A projection control part controls the projection of the projection image by the projection part.
